UPDATE ON THE FOX February 27, 2019

Hello owners, I wanted to take a few moments to update everyone on the progress of The Fox. During the past month, the weather hasn’t been very cooperative for anyone training this year’s 2 year old crop. A combination of weekly storms, and days of exceedingly frigid weather has made progress more challenging. For example, Brendan has been hoping to get The Fox wearing hopples regularly. Ideally when getting started, it is desirable to have a number of successive days to get him started and accustomed to them, but the weather hasn’t allowed for that. We are hoping that this coming week we will get a forecast to allow for him to get The Fox accustomed to wearing hopples. Despite the weather inconsistencies, the horse has been jogging well. He paces almost exclusively and minds his manners well on the track. He is showing a nice efficient stride, and all business when he’s out on the track. Brendan has informed me that he has made a couple of equipment changes recently that has also added to his performance and he’s very pleased with The Fox overall.

The top three choices for stable names from the owner votes were:

  1. The Lucky Fox Stable (submitted by George Larter)

  2. Frontendforty Stable (submitted by Dr. Scott Campbell)

  3. Sharing Dreams Stable (submitted by James Dennie) and The New Adventures Stable (submitted my Joey Blacquiere) tied for third in votes, so by flip of the coin, Sharing Dreams will be submitted as our third name.

I will be submitting our application for the stable name to Standardbred Canada and will keep you all posted on which name we are granted.

Regards,

The Mystandardbred team
